4. Attend the appointment with your completed form, passport, proof of funds, and travel insurance documentation.

Incomplete insurance coverage â€” most countries require a minimum of â‚¬30,000 in medical coverage. Outdated police clearance certificates (must usually be issued within 3â€“6 months). Failing to book a consulate appointment well in advance â€” wait times can be several months in peak periods.
